GETTING TO KNOW…
…Brian Miller
By Terry Whetstone

Brian Miller started his racing career
about eight years ago, in the four cylinder division at Hill Valley Speedway.
The engine is still a four cylinder, but he’s in the four cylinder pure stock
class here at Hesston. In the past he was also in a four cylinder thundercar.
Brian got his start when his dad and some friends were going to the
races in the 1980’s. Brian tagged along, and the rest is history.
He pilots a Mustang that carries the number 37 and is white. He’s got a
2537 size engine under the hood that was built by Jeff McMillan. The number and
the color came from the car his dad worked on while he was growing up.
Brian is a robot operator by day and, the robot at night…not really, but
he does operate a robot. I gotta find out what kind of robot he operates, maybe
its R2D2 or something.
His favorite race car driver is Jeremy Mayfield while is likes the Coca
Cola 600 the best. He is listing Bedford and Hesston as his favorite speedway.
He like listening to Country music and Toby Keith is the artist he likes to
listen to. His favorite movie is Coyote Ugly and Julia Roberts is his favorite
actress.
Brian said his most memorable moment in racing was when he competed in his
first fair race at Bedford Speedway in 1996.
While the race at Bedford is a favorite, his least favorite moment in
racing took place at Lincoln Speedway, when he totaled his brand new car at the
track.
He has yet to win a feature but he has topped the heats a few times. His
goal is to win, win, win.
He’s seen competition at Bedford, Hill Valley, Path Valley, Hesston, Lincoln
and Humming Bird.
His pit crew includes Rachel, Beth, Billie Joe (Bittie), Shawn and Gerald.
Sponsors on the #37 include Cooper Tools, KOPP Drug, Hoss’s Steak and
Sea House, Apex Realty and Advance Auto Parts.
He doesn’t have a web site and he doesn’t have an email address, so, I
can’t list them for you.
He said he once tried an old NASCAR headset radio in his four cylinder
thundercar at Hill Valley Speedway.
We here at Hesston Speedway want to wish Brian Miller and his crew lots of
luck this season and I don’t think that it’ll be too long until he finds his
way to victory lane.
