ELIGIBLE MODEL

A. This division is limited to 1998 to 2005 American manufactured stock car bodies.

B. Cars must have type of body style displayed on the car with three (3") inch minimum letters.

Example - Monte Carlo, Taurus, Grand Prix.

BODIES

A. Nosepiece and roof MUST match body style of car.

B. All cars Must have a minimum of one and one half inch (1 ½” ) roll at the top of fenders, doors, and quarter panels. A sharp edge will not be permitted. Body roll must go from sides over upper body, NOT upper body over sides.

C. Floorboards and firewall MUST cover the drivers area and be constructed to provide maximum safety.

D. Driver’s seat MUST remain in the same general area as the general design of the car.

E. Windshield screen or bars are MANDATORY.

F. Neatly painted number at least eighteen inches (18") high are REQUIRED on each side of the car and roof.

Neatly painted number at least six (6") inches high are REQUIRED on the fuel cell in a highly visible position.

G. NO fins or raised lips of any kind are permitted ANYWHERE along the entire length of the car.

H. Body line MUST use corresponding engine. EXAMPLE: Ford\Ford, Chrysler\Chrysler, Chevy\Chevy.

I. NO “slope nose” or “wedge” cars permitted PERIOD.

J. ALL cars MUST use corresponding engine. EXAMPLE: Ford\Ford, Chrysler\Chrysler, Chevy\Chevy.

K. NO “Belly pans” or any type of enclosure on bottom of car is permitted. Skid plate to protect oil pan is permitted.

L. Stock nose pieces plus roof and roof supports MUST match. EXAMPLE: Monte Carlo\Monte Carlo, Taurus\Taurus, Grand Prix\Grand Prix etc. Fifty- pound weight penalty will be accessed for noncompliance.

M. All non-approved bodies, will be assessed a fifty-pound minimum weight penalty.

STOCK NOSE PIECES

A. Nose pieces must match Five Star and Performance Bodies templates. Fifty-pound weight penalty will be accessed for non-compliance. MUST be made of model type material.

B. Two (2) piece nose MUST be fastened together in center. NO spacers to gain width permitted.

C. MUST be mounted so as not to alter original shape.

D. No material can be removed from nose piece. No cutting from bottom, top, or sides.

E. No adding to bottom at frontal area to achieve lower ground clearance. Stock nose piece can extend a MAXIMUM of 46" from center of front hub to the farthest point extending forward.

F. Front fender flairs MUST be made of plastic and CANNOT alter original shape of nose piece. Front fender flairs CANNOT extend beyond front tire track width with wheels pointed straight. Front fender flairs MUST have a collapsible support( NO STEEL SUPPORTS).

ROOF & ROOF SUPPORTS

A. MUST be stock appearing and mounted level.

B. MUST be stock dimensions.

C. Forty-five inch (45") MINIMUM height from ground.

D. MUST be mounted parallel to body and near center of car.

E. A MAXIMUM one-inch (1") roll, turned downward is permitted along the front and rear wedges of the roof. ( Roll is permitted to help strengthen roof).

F. NO flat or odd shaped roofs permitted.

G. ALL roof side panels MUST extend to edge of body, be flat, MUST be stock OEM size and MUST be of the same make and model of the nose piece. Roof side panel window size MUST match dimensions in drawings. Window area may be covered with clear lexan or transparent material ( Both roof side panel window areas or NO roof side panel window areas).

H. Any sunshields, four inch (4") MAXIMUM, MUST be able to hinge for easy exiting of car.

I. Front roof supports permitted to be no MORE or no LESS than two inches(2")wide by twenty-four inches (24")

FRONT FENDERS & HOOD

A. MUST be level and flat from left to right side of car.

B. Fenders NOT permitted to gain height from rear to front of the car.

C. NO part of fender or hood can be outside of the body line.

D. Thirty-four inch (34") maximum front fender height. Height is measured vertically from ground to top of fender at center of front wheels.

DOORS

A. At NO Point can door sides break in towards center of the car.

QUARTER PANELS

A. NO offset quarter panels permitted. MUST be equally tapered towards the center of the car. A fifty-pound weight penalty WILL be assessed for violation.

B. Tire clearance from body MUST be a MINIMUM of two inches (2"). NO WHEEL SKIRTS permitted.

C. At NO point can quarter panel sides break in towards center of the car.

INTERIOR

A. Steel or aluminum firewall with no holes.

B. Interior may be boxed.

C. Battery must be safely mounted outside of driver’s compartment.

D. NO fluid reservoirs, tanks or radiators in the driver’s compartment.

E. NO radios.

F. Interior should allow for easy access to driver from either side of the car and be clear of material or construction methods that could cause injury to driver.

G. No raised edges inside of car.

H. NO inboard ( in driver’s compartment) fuel pumps.

SPOILERS

A. Rear spoilers cannot exceed eight inches (8") in height and seventy-two inches (72") in width.

B. Spoilers to be constructed of clear lexan.

C. Spoilers may have three (3) eighteen-inch (18") long solid supports no higher than six inches (6") off rear deck. Spoiler support may not extend beyond the rear edge of the spoiler.

D. Spoiler not permitted to be suspended above rear deck to create a “wing effect”.

E. Spoiler must begin where quarter panel ends. NO extended decks permitted.

FRAMES

A. Rectangular or square tube frames must be constructed of two inch (2") by two inch (2") minimum rectangular or square tubing with a minimum of eight inch (8") circumference and a minimum of eighty-three thousands inch (.083) minimum. All tube frame cars must use 4130 Chrome Moly Steel in frame construction.

B. Tube frames must be constructed of a minimum of one and three quarter inch (1 ¾”) round tubing and must have a wall thickness of eighty-three thousands inch (.083”) minimum. All tube frame cars must use 4130 Chrome Moly Steel in frame construction.

C. If rear bumper is stubbed, it may only extend a maximum of eight- inches (8”) beyond the frame. ANY stubbed rear bumper that extends eight-inches (8”) or more beyond the frame must be rounded and directed towards the front of the car eight-inches (8”).

ROLL CAGE

A. Must be of four (4) post design, 360 degree welded with gussets and be welded to frame.

B. A minimum of three (3) bars must be used in driver’s door. Each bar must be a minimum of one and one-half inch (1 ½”) in diameter with a minimum thickness of ninety-five thousands inch (.095”).

C. Roll cage must be welded to frame.

D. Roll cage must be above the driver’s helmet.

E. Bars around driver must be padded and include a headrest.

SAFETY

A. Five (5) part nylon quick release safety belts required in good condition and working order. Belts must be attached to frame of car.

B. Approved fire resistant driver’s uniform and gloves mandatory. Flame retardant hoods,

shoes, socks, and underwear are recommended.

C. Full faced racing helmet with lexan shield. Snell 90 or newer.

D. Nylon mesh window net is recommended but not required.

E. Fire extinguisher should be located within driver’s reach. A five-pound Halon System is recommended.

F. Quick release steering wheel.

G. No electric fuel pumps or pressurized fuel systems.

H. A driveline “sling” is required.

I. Drive shaft and weight ballast must be painted white have car number painted on them.

 

J. Added weight or ballast must be securely fastened.

K. Eighteen (18) gauge steel or one-eighth inch (1/8”) aluminum “cockpit tub” to protect front, sides, and rear of driver is highly recommended.

L. NO batteries permitted in driver’s compartment.

FUEL SYSTEMS

A. An approved fuel cell, thirty-two (32) gallon maximum, must be securely mounted

the trunk area of the car inside a twenty (20) gauge metal box supported by two(2)

one-eighth inch (1/8”) by two inch (2”) steel straps.

B. All fuel cells must be completely visible from rear of car. Fuel cell is not permitted

be mounted lower than bottom of quick change rear-end.

C. No pressurized fuel systems permitted.

D. Alcohol or racing gasoline only is permitted. Nitrous gases or other nitrate

additives are not permitted including top lube to alcohol.

 

WHEELS

A. Aluminum or steel wheels only.

B. Fourteen-inch (14”) width maximum.

C. No plastic or fiberglass wheels permitted.

D. Bead locks allowed.

TIRES

A. Maximum cross section width is sixteen and tree quarters (16 3/4").

B. American Racer 44, Hoosier15/1300 or harder, NOTHING SOFTER.

C. All Tires must meet a minimum durameter reading of 32 at any time.

BRAKES

A. Must be in good working condition with all four (4) working properly.

B. Only steel brake rotors permitted.

C. No plastic brake lines. Steel braided brake lines permitted.

TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH & REAR END

A. Aluminum or steel transmission permitted. (Bert or Binn allowed).

B. Must have forward and reverse gears with working clutch and starter. Multi-disc clutch permitted and can be run with an aluminum bell housing. Stock configuration clutch must have a full scatter shield of at least one-quarter inch (1/4”) thick steel or approved bell housing. Failure to do so will result in automatic suspension and loss of points.

C. No direct drive or in-out boxes permitted.

D. Automatic transmission permitted.

E. No “live axle” rear ends permitted.

F. Floater “wide-five” hub assembly only is permitted.

G. Aluminum axle tubes allowed.

H. Quick-change rear ends are permitted.

 

 

 

SUSPENSION

A. Front suspension must be stock configuration.

B. No center steering.

C. Late model suspension components may be used.

D. No torsion bar suspensions.

REMOTE CONTROLLED SUSPENSION DEVICES

A. No remote shock controls or suspension adjusters permitted.

B. No weight jacks of any kind permitted. This includes fifth (5th) coils, etc.

C. Any driver using or found to be using any of the above mentioned devices, WILL

LOSE THE COMPLETE DEVICE AND WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE

NIGHTS RACE. ALSO THEY WILL LOSE ALL POINTS EARNED TO THAT

POINT IN THE SEASON.

 

ENGINES

A. Engines can be 412 cubic inches or Silver Spring legal 358. Balanced assemblies optional

B. Block must be a standard factory production block and naturally aspirated. No aluminum blocks. Chevy Bowtie, Mopar R and Ford SVO blocks permitted. World Products Motown part #084011or part # 084111 blocks for CHEVY or World Products Man O War part # 087150, 087152, 087170, or 087172 for FORD will be acceptable BUT, mast add twenty (20lbs.) pounds to engine mounting plate.

C .Engine setback: Forward most spark plug behind the upper ball joint not to exceed six inches (6”) measured from center line of spark plug to center line of upper ball joint.

D. Crankshaft stroke must remain stock for the engine make and model being used. Crankshaft may be turned a maximum of .040 under. Aftermarket steel crankshafts will be allowed and must weigh 46 pounds or more for durability purposes.

E. Wet or dry sump oil systems allowed.

F. Any stock length (no titanium or aluminum) connecting rod may be used. Aftermarket steel connecting rods are acceptable. Ford and Chevy may use a six-inch ( 6") connecting rod EXCEPT Sliver Springs legal cars.

G. Flat Top Pistons Only. Zero deck. Pistons may not be above the block.

H. Any factory production steel head. World Products Sportsman II, Chevy Bowtie, World Products Roush 220, Ford N Head , Mopar W2 and Vortec steel head allowed. World Products GM casting number is I-037. World Products Ford casting number is I-051. All Vortec heads allowed except for casting numbers 25534371 & 25534351. Dart Iron Eagle heads not allowed. No angle milling of heads allowed. Must have a 60cc minimum combustion chamber volume. Aluminum heads are allowed on engines running a 2 barrel carburetor No relocating rocker arm studs. Port matching on the intake runner is acceptable up to a maximum depth of ¾ inch in from the intake manifold interface. The valve seat area can be cleaned-up and blended no deeper than ¾ inch in from the seat. No additional hand or machine work of ports is permitted. CC measurement of head runners to remain stock with the exception of port matching.

I. Steel or stainless steel valves only. Any spring, any retainer permitted. Roller rockers permitted.

J. Flat tappet cams only with a MAXIMUM lobe lift of .400 inches. No mushroom or roller lifters. Lifter bores must remain stock. No needle bearing cam, crankshaft, or rod bearings permitted. No externally adjustable cam timing devices.

 

K. No electric fuel pump, pressurized fuel system or inboard (in driver’s compartment) fuel pumps. External gear drive fuel pumps permitted.

L. No 180-degree headers.

M. Must have working starter.

IGNITION

A. Any battery powered ignition, MSD, ACCEL, MALLORY or equal permitted.

B. No magneto’s

CARBURETOR

A. A silver springs legal 358 and any motor that is no more than 360 cubic

inches can run a single four barrel carburetor

B. Motor that is not 360 cubic inches or silver spring legal must run a single 650 cfm two barrels carburetor. Single carburetor only. No super chargers, fuel njection, or turbo chargers.

C. Any approved intake manifold other than a smoke ram or tunnel ram. Intake height to be a maximum of eight inches (8”) measured from the top of the carburetor bowl using a straight edge from the bowl to the #3 or #4 runner of the intake manifold.

 

WEIGHT

 

A. Minimum weight of car and driver of 2400 lbs. After event.

B. All added weight must be painted white with car number displayed and securely

attached to frame. Any bolt on weight must be in front of rear bumper and must use

½ inch or larger bolt to fasten weight.

C. Track scales will be considered official.
